Bishop Clayton Nelson

Reverend Clayton H. Nelson surrendered his life to Christ in 1978 while watching a broadcast of the PTL Club. Shortly thereafter, he joined Yonkers Christian Assembly a local church in Yonkers, New York. He was an active member at Yonkers Christian Assembly for fourteen years. While at Yonkers Christian Assembly he served in various ministries such as Street Evangelism, Prison Ministry, Men’s Ministry, the Praise & Worship Team, Sunday School and New Converts Bible Study. He also served for several years on the Board of Trustees.

In 1983, he founded the Interdenominational Missionary Outreach Ministry which was incorporated as a para-church organization with the purpose of establishing and assisting other churches and outreach ministries. Sensing the call of God on his life to preach, he enrolled in Bible School at the Christian Love Tabernacle School of the Bible. After completing his area of study, he was ordained by Bishop Leon Harris in 1985. He was invited to preach at various churches in Westchester while still at Yonkers Christian Assembly but felt a stronger call on his life to preach God’s word.

In 1993, he left Yonkers Christian Assembly and joined Narrow Way Gospel Assembly to assist Pastor Clifford Fisher in the ministry. After sitting under the leadership of Pastor Fisher for two years, God called Reverend Nelson to pastor his own church. He founded InnerFaith Church in November of 1995 and has continued to lead his flock for over twenty years.

Pastor Nelson is now Bishop and Overseer having been consecrated and ordained as such in October 2009. Pastor Paul Millar of Life Changing Ministries and Pastor Doris Johnson of Road To Dasmascus Ministries are both under the covering and leadership of Bishop Nelson.  Bishop is the spiritual father and adviser of Pastor Eric Jeter of Victorious Apostolic Church and Apostle Diana Brown of Unlimited Power of God. Bishop Nelson resides in Yonkers and was married for over thirty five years to his lovely wife and partner in ministry, the late Reverend Anetta Nelson.
